I Shan’t Remember Thee

If sorrow be the commemoration of our love
Then I shan’t remember thee.
You will not be a souvenir, a keepsake
Buried in the dust
Excavated on cheerless days.
You won’t be a mere relic of the past
All the memories amassed
They will not be the culmination of you.
Should grief dictate that I remember you in woeful verse
Then I shan’t remember thee!
You see you are the flowers blooming in my soul
You are the scent perfuming the gardens of my heart.
You are
Eternal Spring.
And if distance should mean that I remember you
With petals soaked and withering wreaths
Then I shan’t remember thee at all.

It has been a long time since I came around and all this while I’ve missed my wordpress home tremenduously! I’m back temporarily for now. Life is pretty crazy these days and once I’ve got me some time to breathe, I shall make sure I go through all that I’ve missed. Till then, pretty please remember me. XOXO

    1. Thank you! Happy you can relate to my thoughts. Grief opens us to so many perspectives, overcoming sorrow truly is a learning process. Whatever it is that you’re going through, I hope it passes soon. I wish you the best in life. 🙂

  1. I loved what you did with words in this. The target, shoved in a dark corner, perhaps to gather dust and eventually be thrown out with other things.

I’m glad I’m not in that category.

    1. Tammy! I’ve missed you. So good to hear from you. I’ve been MIA myself, got to catch up with so much. Hope all’s well at your end. I’ve got a busy fifteen days ahead, will get back to you by the end of the month. Go easy on the pen, till then. Or maybe not. 😊❤️
